Awaken Your Voice

Several topics we discuss on this podcast:

What to consider when something in life is no longer serving you?

Recognizing that something is no longer serving you is an uncomfortable phase. Awakenings coincide with shedding your skin. Changing your relationship with yourself, others, your job, and daily routines.

Do you find your speech shifts during these phases of awakening?

Absolutely! Your speech, voice, and language must change when you desire to move to the next level. You realize your communication must change, but it’s hard to pinpoint what needs to change. The prospect of being unable to identify who you will ‘become’ in this new role is terrifying for many people. For this reason, people hold back from advancement!

Let’s discuss executive-level advancement and humility.

Many executives do not and will not discuss the need for speech coaching outside of their close circle. Seeking improvement in speaking abilities as an executive seems to be a sign of weakness. Coincidentally, Presidents are known for having a team of speech coaches and scriptwriters, but executives appear to want to covet their need for speaking improvement. I fully understand this phenomenon to be true. I support all of my executive clients in their endeavors while respecting the need for privacy as a top priority.

Once you do possess the power and skills to advance, downplaying yourself due to your humility is a hard reality of moving to the next level. It’s difficult for executives to be promoted from mid-level managers to become the supervisors of their former colleagues who were once their co-working peers.
